Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the global banking industry by enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experience, and mitigating risks. Financial institutions worldwide have integrated AI-driven technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and robotic process automation into various banking services. Despite its growing significance, the application of AI in banking
remains a developing field, with challenges in implementation, regulation, and customer acceptance. AI presents significant opportunities for the Vietnamese banking sector. It has the potential to enhance financial inclusion, streamline banking operations, and improve risk management. A systematic literature review and an analysis of case studies from both global and Vietnamese banks were applied in the study. Secondary data sources, such as reports from financial institutions, government regulations, and academic publications, are utilized to assess AI implementation trends, challenges, and opportunities. This findings show the current state of AI applications in the banking sector globally and in Vietnam, highlighting key
challenges and opportunities. The study provides insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and researchers on the strategic integration of AI in fostering AI adoption into banking operations.
