THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE FINANCE POLICIES ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Climate change has been causing significant negative impacts on the environment and society. In this context, climate finance policies play a crucial role in promoting financial resources towards projects aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change. The study focuses on assessing the impact of climate finance policies on sustainable development through experiences from typical countries. Sweden has succeeded in using carbon taxes to reduce carbon emissions and invest in renewable energy. India has successfully issued green bonds to finance renewable energy projects and energy saving. France has also successfully implemented laws on disclosing climate change related risks for businesses. The study also synthesizes the challenges in implementing climate finance policies of countries, thereby drawing lessons and directions for future policy development.
