Abstract

Families are the best educational environment for gender equality. It also play a
fundamental role in shaping atitudes towards gender role fom the very early human life
cycle and passing down the values through generations. People inherit gender knowledge and
skills fom their families which contributes to eliminating inequalities in division of labour
by gender, making decision on resource-investment on the basic of equality between men and
women. Non-violent families are also perquisite conditions in moving towards a genderequal society. Terefore, gender-equality awareness of the previous generations in the family
such as grandparents, parents, etc. has a great impact on the awareness of their descendants.
