On Le Loi's Questions in 1428 and Early Le Court during the stages 1428-59 (A lesson of the Postwar Period)

  • Nguyễn Hải Kế

Abstract

In June 1428, in front of his courtiers in the capital of Dong Kinh, King Le Loi asked the question concerning the postwar period: "To Where Do We Go?". This question manifested a liberation, and country rebuilding clearly consists of two stages, i.e. before and after the war. These stages were by no mean discontinuous and metaphysical. On the one hand, the first stage associated and affected the second one in the dialectics of movement. On the other hand, the period of war and the time of peace were the two different periods in which demand, capacity, and method of state management did not equate. Having victoriously overcome the war does not necessarily mean that there would be no challenge ahead. In fact, the challenge in peace was deadly ardous too.
