Labor disputes, strikes in Vietnam and some recommendations

Abstract

     Labor disputes are shifting from rights advocation to benefits and interests advocation. This trend is expected to be predominant in the future. Labor disputes and strike are continue to be complicated, with a tendency to increase both in quantity and participants number, who mostly occur in FDI-invested enterprises and private enterprises. The author believe the amendments of Labor Law and Trade Union Law, following by well-invested and well-developed labor union systems in enterprises would help limit the number of labor disputes and strike, and if there are, they would be in accordance to the law.
