Combination of Vietnamese and English in foreign language teaching process

Abstract

    Historically, English learners have been taught mainly in Vietnamese at some schools and universities in Vietnam.Foreign language teachers usually teach grammar, vocabulary and translation. This method has brought many benefits forlearners. Besides, there are also many shortcomings.This study has shown that depending on the learner and the differentrequirements of the types of exercises, the flexible use of both Vietnamese and English in foreign language classes will contributeto higher efficiency in this subject.
