Perception, attitudes toward artificial intelligence and related factors of nursing students at Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy

Abstract

Objective: To describe students’ perception and attitudes toward artificial intelligencein nursing practice and identify some factors related to perceptions and attitudes of nursing students at Danang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 288 nursing students at Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy from March 2025 to April 2025 using a self-administered questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Spearman correlation were used to analyze data with p < 0.05. Results: 50.3% of students were classified as having a high perception with a mean score of 3.58 ± 0.49 and 79.2% of students had neutral attitudes toward artificial intelligencewith a mean score of 3.30 ± 0.43. There were differences in perception and attitudes toward artificial intelligence between male and female students. Attitudes towards artificial intelligence also differed between students with different information technology skills. In addition, there was a positive correlation between students’ perception and attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Conclusion: Most students have high perception and neutral attitudes toward artificial intelligence
