Current situation of mental health and searching for support from medical services of default women suffering sexual violence in default clubs in Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Can Tho province in 2021

Abstract

Objective: Survey the current situation of sexual violence among Deaf women from 18 to 40 years old in Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Can Tho provinces in 2021. Subjects and Research method: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 45 Deaf women aged 18-40 years old in Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Can Tho provinces. Research results: 53% of deaf women have been sent sexually explicit images and videos via text messages and social networks. Being sent messages with symbols and language with sexual implications accounts for 48.8%; 44.4% of people who used vulgar language and sexual innuendos when chatting accounted for 44.4%; Being criticized for their body accounts for 44%; Being stared at the body accounts for 42%; Being suggested to have sex and promised gifts accounts for 17.7%; being intentionally hugged or touched by the body accounts for 43%; Being touched when you don’t want to is 24.4% and being forced to have sex is 28%. Conclusion: Deaf women with sexually abused in 3 clubs in 3 provinces of Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Can Tho generally account for a high rate
