Abstract
Objective: This study aims to access level of practices on student nurse experiencing nursing practices in both daily life and when doing nursing practices in labs at the University. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 601 second-year nursing students from March 2016 to December 2016 in the Nam Dinh University of Nursing. A pre-designed questionnaire was used and the pilot study was initially carried out to test its reliability. Results: The results showed that when students practiced in the clinic, 18% of them had ever lacked personal protection equipment for nursing. Those who have ever been pierced by sharp when conducting nursing practices accounted for 5%. The percentage of nursing students having good practice was 58,7% and that in poor practice group was 41,3%. Conclusion: This study gave a conclusion that there was the reasonable practice of prevention hepatitis B among nursing students. However, about four–fifth of them have not been vaccinated for hepatitis B in our study group, which keeps them at the risk of the disease. Our results illustrates that the strategy to give hepatitis B vaccination for all nursing students joining the healthcare professional University is necessary
