RESULTS OF STUDENTS’ SELF-ASSESSMENT ON RESPONSE LEVEL OF COMPETENCY BY PROGRAM OUTCOME STANDARDS OF BACHELOR OF NURSING AT UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE PHAM NGOC THACH IN 2020

Abstract

Objective: To determine the competence level of the Bachelor of Nursing program’s outcome among undergraduate students at University of medicine Pham Ngoc Thach based on student’s self-assessment, 2020. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study was used on 93 students, who completed the full-time Bachelor of Nursing program, course 2016-2020. Result: The student’s self-assessment showed 55.9% moderate level and 44.1% high level in the “Evidence-based safety patient care practices” section. In the “Management, quality improvement of care, scientific research, and career development” section, the students responded to 38.7% moderate level and 61.3% high level, respectively. The proportion of students assessed their competence of “Comply with the provisions law and professional ethics standards during clinical practice” was 15.1% moderate level and 83.9% high level. Conclusion: Most of the students self- assessed showed they got from moderate to high level in the program’s competent outcome. However, the first aid and emergency practice, the drug reactions and drug interactions, and the scientific research need to improve.
