QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG MOTHER OF CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY TREATED AT NINH BINH REHABILITATION HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objective: To examine quality of life and to determine some related factors of quality of life among mothers of children with cerebral palsy treated at Ninh Binh Rehabilitation Hospital. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on a sample size of 117 mothers of children with cerebral palsy who met the interview criteria using a pre-prepared questionnaire, at Ninh Binh Rehabilitation Hospital from 1/2021 to 6/2021. Results: Seven quality of life domains was scored at low point with less than 50 points. Overall quality of life has a low mean score: 30,39 ± 6,78 points. The quality of life of mothers caring for children with cerebral palsy was related to education level and fatigue factors. Conclusion: The overall quality of life score of mothers of children with cerebral palsy at Ninh Binh Rehabilitation Hospital was relatively low; in which, the score of the mental health group was lower than the physical health group. The quality of life of mothers of children with cerebral palsy was statistically and significantlt related to education level and fatigue factors.
