Knowledge, training needes for first aid training of primary teachers in Nam Dinh city in 2021
Abstract
Objectives: To describe the knowledge, factors related to knowledge, determine training needs on first aid of primary teachers in Nam Dinh city in 2021.
Subjects and Research method: Using a cross-sectional descriptive research design by questionnaire survey on 394 primary school teachers at 10 primary schools in Nam Dinh city.
Results: Score the average knowledge of teachers’ first aid knowledge is 7.84 ± 5.113. The percentage of teachers with satisfactory knowledge is 130/394, accounting for 33%, and 264/394 teachers who do not have knowledge of first aid account for 67%. There is a relationship between the score of first aid knowledge with the number of years of service and the rate of participation in first aid training courses. 97.7% of teachers have a need to attend training courses on first aid.
Conclusion: Most of the teachers participating in the study recognized the importance of first aid (96,4%). Research also shows that the knowledge of first aid teachers is not high (knowledge has not reached 67%), most teachers have a need to be trained in first aid (97,7%). Therefore, first aid training courses should be organized for teachers by direct theoretical and practical training sessions at primary schools
