Status on knowledge attitude and related factors about hospital infection prevention of nurses in clinical departments in Ninh Binh province general Hospital in 2023

Abstract

Objective: To describe thestatus of knowledge and attitude about hospital infection prevention of nurses in clinical departments of Ninh Binh province general hospital in 2023. Subjects and research methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was implemented among 338 nurses from April to June 2023. Results: The percentage of nurses’ knowledge of infection prevention accounted for 27,5%, the majority of nurses had a positive general attitude about infection prevention, accounting for 81,1%. Factors related to knowledge about infection prevention of nurses: Working seniority ≤ 10 years, working in individual specialty faculties, internal medicine, participation in infection prevention training from 2022 to now (p < 0.05). Knowledge related to attitude about infection prevention (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Good knowledge on infection prevention of nurses was still limited, it is necessary to strengthen training on infection prevention for nurses every year.
