Abstract

Objectives: Description of medical examination time according to the outpatient examination process at Gia Lam General Hospital in 2022 . Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 303 patients examined and treated during the day at the medical examination department - Gia Lam General Hospital from October 2022 to December 2022. Results: Medical examination time according to the outpatient medical examination process at Gia Lam General Hospital in 2022: The average total time at the medical examination stage was 35.56 ± 25.53 minutes; The average total time at the testing stage was 25.13 ± 29.04 minutes; The average total time of the entire classification process according to each type of medical examination was: 102.5 ± 51.04 minutes.Conclusion: The average time divided by number of techniques at Gia Lam General Hospital is lower than the recommended level of Decision 1313 /QD-BYTIt is necessary to update and edit hospital policies and regulations to help reduce medical examination time, especially waiting for patients. Gradually improve facilities and equipment within the hospital’s capabilities, adding directions to help patients easily move to units performing clinical and paraclinical examination
