Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics and determine the level of independent activities of daily living by using the Barthel scale of patients with CVA at the Neurology Department and Medicine and Geriatric Department-Thai Binh General Hospital 2019. Method: To collect data from 112 patients with CVA by observing and assessing level of independent activities of daily living by using the Barthel scale. Results: The patient's average score was 55.00 +- 28.18. 17.9% of patients were completely independent in daily activities, 42.9% of patients need help and 39.3% of patients were totally dependent. Conclusion: The proportion of patients who need assistance in daily activities is still quite high, so that they requires special attention and help from healthcare providers and family members.
