Abstract

Objective: To describe the status of depression, anxiety, stress and the response measures of women to abortion outside the first 3 months at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in 2021. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study, which was conducted with a sample size of 202 women who came to have an abortion outside the first 3 months of being interviewed with a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Results: The percentage of women who had abortions outside the first 3 months showed signs of depression, anxiety and stress, respectively, 58.9%; 66.8% and 57.4%. Subject had many response measures such as sharing with those around to reduce depression, anxiety and stress. Conclusion: The percentage of women who have abortions outside the first 3 months with symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in 2021 is still high. Many response measures have been applied by the subjects, however, the effectiveness is not high. Therefore, psychological counseling for these subjects is necessary.
