ASSESSMENT CHANGES OF TREATMENT COMPLIANCE OF HIGH BP PERFORMANCE OUTCOME TREATMENT AT YEN BAI CITY MEDICAL CENTER AFTER HEALTH EDUCATION

Abstract

Objectives: Evaluate the change in adherence to hypertension treatment of patients before and after the health education intervention. Subjects and research methods: Health education intervention study on a group with a comparison before and after the intervention with a sample size of 96 hypertensive patients treated as outpatients at the Medical Center of Yen Bai City from February to May 2022. Results: Before the intervention, the patient’s adherence to antihypertensive treatment was limited with an average score of 51.9 ± 12.3 points out of 76 points. After intervention, adherence to antihypertensive treatment was significantly improved to 65.6 ± 9.7 points after 1 month and remained at 68.8 ± 8.2 points after 2 months of intervention (p < 0,05). Conclusion: The patient’s adherence to antihypertensive treatment was limited at the time before the intervention but improved significantly after the intervention. The research results show the role, importance and necessity of regularly educating health for patients about treatment adherence in the treatment of hypertension
