INFECTION STATUS OF FASCIOLA SSP. IN CATTLE IN NHU THANH DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Bovine Fasciola ssp. in Nhu Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province. The fecal samples were collected from 380 cows from October 2023 to March 2024 to determine the infected rate and intensity by age, gender and clinical manifestations using clinical observation, combined with fecal sedimentation method. The results showed that 182 cattle were infected with Fasciola ssp. (accounting for 47.89%). Both infection rate and intensity were proportional to the age of the hosts; gender did not affect the infected rate and intensity. The cattle with infected intensity (+) had no clinical symptom.
