RESEARCH ON THE ABILITY OF GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT, AND PRODUCTIVITY OF SEVERAL CUCUMBER VARIETIES GROWN IN TUNNEL HOUSE WITH PLASTIC COVER IN DONG SON DISCTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

   Research on the growth ability, development and yield of some cucumber varieties grown in tunnel houses with plastic cover in order to identify potential cucumber varieties for high yield, quality and cultivation efficiency in conditions of Thanh Hoa province. The research evaluated 6 varieties of cucumber, including: Fadia, TN 368 (control), Baby 116, Picolino, Kichi, and Melen in Spring-Summer crop in 2020 In Dong Tien commune, Dong Son district, Thanh Hoa province. The research results indicated that the research cucumber varieties have growing time of 75-90 days, yield from 29.64 tons/ha to 54.72 tons/ha, higher than the control ones. Among the research varieties, Fadia is the superior prospect of growth ability and productivity. It is more potential than the control variety and the others, the fruit average weight is 6.67g, the theoretical yield is 65.66 tons / ha, the real yield revenue reached 54.72 tons.
