Abstract

The article studies the records of the author Phan Huy Chu during his voyage to Ha Chau in the early 19th century. Besides the delicate and keen observation of the strange outside world, the author has shown his admiration for the beauty of the sea and islands of the country. Indeed, the notes of Phan Huy Chu mainly emphasize on the role of the author, revealing a new perception of the East - West relationship as well as showing a different view of historians on the traditional trip visiting new land in China.
