Abstract
Based on the expanded TPB model, the study explores the intention to install rooftop solar power in households in Hanoi. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze quantitative data collected through direct surveys from 131 households that had installed rooftop solar power in Hanoi city. The study results showed that perceived usefulness positively impacts attitudes (β = 0.285). Perceived behavior control has the most crucial influence on households' intention to install rooftop solar power (β = 0.393). In contrast, the expectation of the good life has the lowest effect on attitudes and intentions to install rooftop solar power in households in Hanoi City (β = 0.096 and 0.117). Based on the research results, they provide empirical evidence on crucial factors to raise attitudes and promote the intention of households in Hanoi to install rooftop solar power. The results also add knowledge about available solar solutions rather than general knowledge of renewable energy.
