Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the impact of ChatGPT’s characteristics and social influence on the intention to continue using ChatGPT. The research was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City with a sample size of 294 students, and data was collected through an online survey on Google Forms over three weeks. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test the research hypotheses. The findings confirmed that ChatGPT’s characteristics, social influence, and attitudes toward ChatGPT positively influence the intention to continue using ChatGPT. Additionally, ChatGPT’s characteristics and social influence were found to have a positive effect on attitudes toward ChatGPT and perceived behavioral control. However, perceived behavioral control did not affect the intention to continue using ChatGPT, and technological anxiety did not moderate the relationship between perceived behavioral control and the intention to continue using ChatGPT. The study’s findings provide valuable implications for the future development and application of ChatGPT, offering practical benefits for education, thereby enhancing learning outcomes and improving the user experience.
