An experiment on the role of big data management capabilities to logistics service provider’s performance in the Southeast region, Vietnam

Abstract

The role of big data for businesses has been studied a lot. However, not many studies mention the role of extensive data management capabilities in improving enterprise operational efficiency. With the disruption of global supply chains during the recent Covid-19 pandemic, logistics service providers need a new, more sustainable direction to increase integration and access to international logistics supply. This study clarifies the relationship between extensive data management capabilities, transport supply chain integration, access to global logistics supply, and operational efficiency of logistics service providers. The study used the SEM with data from 211 logistics service providers in the Southeast region. Research results show that significant data management capabilities help logistics service providers integrate transport chains more efficiently, access global logistics supplies better, and gain more advantages in access to international logistics sources, thereby improving the enterprise’s sustainable operational efficiency.
