The Impact of Trade Value and E-Government Development Index on Logistics Performance in Asean
Abstract
This study examines the impact of trade value (Trade) and the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) on logistics performance (LPI) in ASEAN countries. Additionally, it evaluates the moderating role of EGDI in the relationship between Trade and LPI from 2007 to 2023 using the
OLS, FEM, REM, Two-step Generalized Method of Moments (2 Step-GMM). The findings indicate that Trade positively influences LPI, confirming its important role in enhancing logistics system development; however, the effect is not particularly strong. EGDI has a significant impact on LPI, both directly and as a moderator in the Trade-LPI relationship. Furthermore, the study reveals that the quality of transport and infrastructure (QTTR) positively affects LPI, while GDP growth (GDPG) does not have a substantial impact. Inflation (INF), on the other hand, negatively influences LPI, indicating that logistics costs tend to rise amid economic fluctuations. The research also offers several managerial implications for improving LPI in ASEAN, particularly as the region intensifies economic integration and technological adoption in management and operations.
