Insurtech in Car Insurance: A Bibliometric Analysis
Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to provide an overview of the knowledge map and development trends of Insurtech in car insurance and identifies potential avenues in the future research.
Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a bibliometric based on a dataset of 207 InsurTech-related studies in car insurance in Scopus during the period 2015–2025 by utilizing VOSviewer and Biblioshiny in RStudio.
Findings: This study shows that Insurtech in car insurance have developed rapidly from foundational technologies to advanced intelligent solutions through enhanced the Emerging technologies to analyze database to support data-driving pricing, risk assessments, fraud detections, and control claims costs.
Originality/value: This study contributes to the research domain of data analytics and Telematics-based applications by examining their technological evolution across different stages within key processes of car insurance. The findings offer valuable insights for insurance management teams and researchers by highlighting future research directions and emphasizing the role of intelligent technologies in enhancing transparency and fairness within the insurance ecosystem.
