Promoting Vietnam's Seafood Exports to the EU Market

Abstract

The article analyzes the current situation of Vietnam's seafood export activities to European Union (EU) countries. Analysis results show that seafood exports to the EU increased output, value, and quality. At the same time, the research results also show us a shift in the industry's product structure, with a tendency to reduce the proportion from exploitation to increase products from aquaculture and focus on high-value processed products in seafood export. Based on on-site analysis, the article uses the SWOT model to evaluate the advantages, difficulties, opportunities, and challenges for Vietnamese seafood exports to the EU market. The article implies several policies to develop Vietnamese seafood exports to the EU sustainably and gradually overcome the obstacles currently encountered.
