Positive Psychological Capital Influences the Job Satisfaction and Engagement of Employees at Commercial Banks in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

The study aims to assess how positive psychology capital impacts employees' job satisfaction and engagement levels in commercial banks located in Ho Chi Minh City. Method sampling is done by convenient and stratified method with 469 employees working at commercial banks. The results of the SEM linear structural equation model show that the four psychological capital components, confidence, hope, optimism and adaptability, have affected job engagement. The study also shows that the mediating role of job satisfaction has an essential influence on the engagement of bank employees. In conclusion, the study proposes some implications for bank managers to improve bank employees' job satisfaction and job engagement.
