Assessment of conditions for Literary tourism development in Quy Nhon city and surrounding areas using SWOT analysis

Abstract

Quy Nhơn City and its surrounding areas encompass numerous literary heritage sites of significant value. This study employs field research, interviews, and SWOT analysis to elucidate the value of literary tourism resources and examine key factors such as visitor, transportation infrastructure, travel distance, and tourism policies that influence literary tourism activities. The findings indicate that the strengths of literary tourism comprise five key factors, reflecting the richness and appeal of destinations and literary values, with an average evaluation score of 4.3. The weaknesses of literary tourism are rated at 3.3 with the most critical drawbacks being the underdeveloped status of literary tourism sites and the lack of tourism services. The opportunities for literary tourism development are assessed based on five criteria, with Quy Nhơn’s emergence as a new and attractive tourist destination receiving the highest rating. Additionally, six factors are identified as challenges to literary tourism, with an evaluation score of 2.8. A total of ten literary heritage sites hold potential for local tourism development, offering opportunities for sightseeing, exploration, and heritage experiences through one-day literary tours.
