Abstract

The world is entering the digital transformation era, applying digital technology to all aspects of social life, including education. In this context, teaching activities at universities in Vietnam have been changing according to the goal of developing learners' competencies. Among the necessary competencies for students are the capacity to detect and solve problems,the capacity to apply information and communication technology, the capacity for scientific research, the capacity to self-learning, etc. Self-learning capacity plays a critical role and is an indispensable requirement. The article outlines the theoretical basis for self-learning and assesses the actual learning capacity of students at the Can Tho University of Technology.
