Abstract
Canna vermicelli production brings higheconomic value to the residents of Nguyen Huecommune, Hoa An district, and Tinh Tuc town,Nguyen Binh district in Cao Bang province. Thestudy assesses the sustainability of canna vermicelliproduction based on DFID's sustainable livelihoodframework. By applying qualitative researchmethodology through 26 semi-structured in-depthinterviews and field observations to be conductedbetween May and September 2023, this study hasanalyzed the sustainable livelihood based on cannavermicelli production activities in the two studyareas in Cao Bang. The results show that humancapital, financial capital, and natural capital have acrucial impact on the sustainability of communitylivelihoods. Nonetheless, this livelihood has beenfacing many challenges in building a brand andexpanding markets. This research contributes totackling practical problems and providing realworld data for diversification and sustainablelivelihood development for the community.
