Abstract

After holding the position of PrimeMinister of India (2014), Mr. Narendra Modi madeimportant adjustments in this country's foreignpolicy, in which cultural diplomacy is consideredone of the important pillars. In the last two decades,India has continuously promoted culturaldiplomacy activities with countries in Asia andaround the world. Holding an importantgeopolitical position, Southeast Asia has becomethe focus of Prime Minister Narendra Modi'sforeign policy. Through traditional values, Indiadesires to connect with Southeast Asia moreeffectively. This article focuses on analyzingIndia's cultural diplomacy activities with SoutheastAsia during the administration of Prime MinisterNarendra Modi (2014 - 2024) through severalaspects, such as Buddhist diplomacy, promotingand populazing Yoga, and exporting movies;thereby pointing out the position of Southeast Asiain India's foreign policy in general and theeffectiveness of cultural diplomacy in increasing“soft power”, affirming India's influence inSoutheast Asia
