Abstract
The current field practicum with group work in schools of the Faculty of Social Work, Hanoi National University of Education, has had remarkable success, creating trust and a strong position in practicing social work methods at partner schools. By using the desk-research method (analyzing practicum reports conducted by students), the in-depth interview method with teachers, and school administrators at the placement organizations, the authors draw out the benefits, difficulties, and challenges of group social work performance. Based on the survey results, the authors proposed some recommendations for the Faculty of Social Work, HNUE to gradually improve and focus on developing school social work in general and group social work in particular, considering this as the central activity - one of the strategic developmental directions of the Faculty and the University.
