Abstract

The paper focused on studying various manifestations of forms, ways of performing local tributation to the Central government under the Ly Dynasty from 1009 to 1225. The article mainly used the method of statistics, comparison, and evaluation between the ancient bibliographic sources of Vietnam to collect and analyze events which related to tributation issues between the Central government and Localities under the Ly Dynasty. Thereby, we have reproduced, codified the events, and remarked on the impact of tributation in the relationship between the Central and Local governments during the Ly Dynasty. The results of the study expected to bring new perceptions of the tributation activity not only the obligation of the Local government to the Central government, but also an expression of the efforts in the process of building monarchy institutions of the Ly Dynasty simultaneously as well as pointed out the specific characteristics of each locality in relation to the Central government
