Abstract
This article provides an overview of Qing dynasty Chinese authors who composed poetry about Vietnam, and classifies and analyzes them according to criteria such as social status, context of composition, and perspectives on Vietnam. Based on statistical data encompassing more than 200 authors and 513 poems, the study reveals that Vietnamesethemed poetry was not limited to emperors and officials, but was also prevalent among folk literati, independent scholars, Buddhist monks, and commoners. Each social group engaged with and reflected on the topic of Vietnam in its own way - ranging from political and ritualistic frameworks to scholarly and cultural approaches. In doing so, the article highlights the multi-layered and multisubjective nature of Sino-Vietnamese interactions during the Qing dynasty, while also shedding light on the historical, cultural, and intellectual significance of this body of poetry.
