Abstract
Feminism is a philosophical-political movement that emerged in Western countries in the 19th century with the aim of ensuring civil and political rights for women. By the mid- 20thcentury, this movement was officially codified in the United Nations Charter, making feminism an essential part of human rights. As a result, studying feminism is a matter of great significance, contributing further research on feminism as well as ensuring gender equality in Vietnam. In the study, the author meticulously explored and analyzed the ideal of John Stuart Mill on gender equality and feminism as well as examined the practical significance of these values in advancing gender equality and women’ rights in Vietnam
