Applying of dividing cross – sectional of soil dam and compacted sequence in high humidity condition

Abstract

    One of the issues that needs to be emphasized in the dam construction process is the distribution of flood control cross-section or economic cross-section. It has to guarantee the requirements of flood control (dam safety), on the other hand it guarantees the requirements of strength and progress (economic). The middle area of Vietnam is an area with favorable terrain conditions for the construction of earth dams. However, this area has high humidity in rain season; soil in this area has special properties: swelling, shrinkage, disintegration. Therefore, building the dam in this area requires carefully studies, well designed, and especially appropriate construct methods.
