Experimental study on river diversion through under-construction concrete dam in the Sesan 4 hydropower project
Abstract
River diversion plays an important role during the construction of water resources projects or hydropower plant projects. Determining a suitable river diversion method will help ensuring the construction progress, construction safety and reducing construction costs.
For major water resources projects or hydropower plant projects, using common river diversion schemes will lead to the construction of large river diversion structures and higher construction costs. Therefore, the selection of combined river diversion scheme through sluices and under-construction concrete dam will reduce construction costs of river diversion structures and main structures significantly.
In this paper, the summarized results of experimental study on river diversion through under-construction dam in the Sesan 4 hydropower project were presented.
