Abstract

Under the impact of climate change - sea level rise, the irrigation system in the South of Thai Binh is considered as one of the most vulnerable areas. In this paper, the authors used MIKE11 model to simulate changes in salinity of the irrigation system in the South of Thai Binh under climate change scenarios. The simulation results show that the influence of saltwater intrusion in the system depends mainly on the opening and closing of intake regulators. The sea level rise contributes less effect to saltwater intrusion length on the rivers, but the magnitude of the salinity tongue is significantly increased.
