Simulation of sedimen transport and bed evolution at Thu Bon estuary
Abstract
Paper presents the simulated results on river and sea bed evolution by using MIKE21_FM Couple and later simulate bed elevation variation under the different scenarios of typical flood events, flood release from reservoirs, sedimentation in the river as well as the different water level and wave spectrum in the sea. The simulated results show that it is a good agreement between observed data and simulated results. This is a river and sea bed erosion after big flood in the river and sedimentation in front of the river mouth during dry season and south west monsoon predominately. Simulated results support decision makers to select appropriate solutions to keep river mouth stably for flood release, navigation as well as protection against erosion and sedimentation for study area.
