hydrodynamics study and investigate flood discharge capacity for My A inlet, Quang Ngai province

Abstract

The My An safe haven for fishing boats located at Pho Quang commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province is one of an important safe haven of the Quang Ngai province, which has been planned for implementing in the National safe haven network up to 2020 by Vietnamese Government. The phase I of the My A project completed in 2011, but due to insufficient length of both jetties in the Northern bank and Southern bank, the access channel and the inlet has often been blocked by accumulated sediment. This paper presents results in study for the My A project phase 2, which both the Northern jetty and Southern jetty will be extended in order to ensure the safety of the fishing boat entering the My A inlet , preventing the sedimentation and also does not effect the flood discharge capacity of the Thoa river via the My A inlet. Numerical study on the Mike 21 FM for the My A project, phase 2 will provide scientific based for implementing the My A project in phase 2.
