Evaluating methods to estimate flood damage to society

Abstract

     Flood control is an important issue in Vietnam and appropriate policies, strategy and action to control floods and mitigate its damage, and to help people to recover after floods, as always been the government's great concern. However, flood impacts in term of social issues also has not been mentioned and calculated comprehensively. This paper is about some methods in economic evaluating flood impacts to society. Therefore, calculation of flood impacts could be helpful for determining appropriate flood control plans.
