Research on the corrosion resistance of structural steels in salt water

Abstract

    The life of steel gates on waterworks in coastal area is not long. Damage is cause mainly by corrosion. Structural materials of steel gates is as carbon steel, atmosphere steel, stainless steel ... But information on durability of steel corrosion in salt water is so far still lacking for the selection of materials suitable for design und manufacturing of steel getes. The present report introduces some research results on the corrosion resistance of structural steel on waterworks Tra Linh and Diem Dien, Thai Thuy, Thai Binh province.
