Abstract

Hydraulic modeling is an experimenting method which plays an important role in the design of irrigation works and hydro-power plants. Model experiments can help with tackling many difficult technical issues and are an instrumental measure in many facets of construction, such as: construction locating and planning, energy dissipating and erosion preventing, drawing out and eliminating the lopsided flows on water slide, reducing turbulent flow velocity and downstream wave height, etc. Model experiments can save a great amount of money of designing process. This article presents economical effectiveness of model experiments of hydraulic constructions and its application to Dinh Binh Project.
