Simulation of delve shape corrosion behaviour in hydraulic structural steel analysis using of ANSYS and random distribution function RAND(x,y)

Abstract

 Previously, in assessing the strengh of steel sluice gates, traditional analytical simulation methods offen used the averaged post-corrosion thickness of material but do not account for the types of delve shape corrosion. This paper discusses the process of simulating delve shape corrosion in finite element analysis using softwave ANSYS and compares the output results with traditional finite element methods. Computational results have shown that delve shape corrosion has significant effects on stress magnitude and distribution in metal members.
