Abstract

The Mekong Delta with area is about 390.000 square kilometer. Sixty percent (60%) of this area affected by acidity and salimity intrusion. Most of hydraulic reinforced concrete structures are corroded in acid environment. Base on studying results, the main reasons for corroding of hydraulic reiforced concrete structures are the high concentration of sulphate ion and low pH value in the water environment. The coroded concrete relies on type II. This area affected by water environment with low pH causes corrody reiforced concrete structures approximated 60% area of the Mekong Delta, in which 10% of this area causes high corrding.
