Application pillar dam technology in Kinh Lo, a barrier of project for flood prevention in Ho Chi Minh city area

Abstract

     System the main tributary of Saigon River are deep water, wide river and soft foundation therefore building barrier construction in those location will be difficulties. Research and apply technological to prevent water racing on those location is a very important issue and urgent. In 12 main barrier constructions of water level control for flood protection in HCMC area Project, Kinh Lo barrier is one of three biggest projects with complex building condition, the investment by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and ICMB - 9 is representative. Investment projects was planned by Hydraulic construction Institute (Vietnam Academy for Water Resources Research) and has been approval. The application of pillar dam technology to impact the support construction right on the bed River is a pre-eminence solution for regions where is geological soft foundation, wide river, deep water and particularly social factors in building project.
