The research to establish the elementary section of concrete gravity dams on the basis of differentiation standards and applied to Ban Chat dam

Abstract

   When designing the concrete dam, the dam section has to ensure at once stability, stress condition and economic conditions. During the selection process to calculate the dam section not only applies Vietnam standards but also should apply the standards of advanced countries. This report presented the research results to determine a reasonable cross section of the concrete dam in Vietnam, Russian Standard and American Standard. The research results are applied to design the concrete gravity dams in areas with no earthquakes
