Abstract

In this paper, the vibration of functionally graded simply beam in thermal environment excited by a moving harmonic force is studied by the finite element method. The beam material is assumed to be composed of ceramic and metal with material properties are considered to be temperature dependent. Based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the equations of motion are derived from Hamilton's principle. The implicit Newmark method is employed in computing the dynamic response of the beams. The numerical investigations are carried out to highlight the effect of the temperature rise, material distribution and moving force parameters on the vibration characteristics of the beams.
