Overview methods to evaluate the benefit in flood risk reduction investment projects

Abstract

    Vietnam is a country located in the region suffered damage caused by natural disasters, and flood is also one of the most popular natural risks. Every years, flood damages to people, property, infrastructure, economy, society, and environmental devastation. Therefore, flood risk reduction investment projects are becoming more important and urgent to save lifes and property of social. Given issues how to choose flood inflastructure investment projects are efficient in economics but still reach high savety. There are many methods, but using Benefit - cost analysis could be easy to evaluate projects from planning to design period. This paper will introduce methods to evaluate the damages from flood risk and use it to benefit cost analysis in evaluating investment projects.
