Research on the effect of “Face slab dispatch” on the vibration of the concrete face slab
Abstract
“Face slab dispatch” is the phenomenon of appearing gaps under the concrete face slab of concrete faced rock-fill dam (CFRD) due to deformation of dam body and buffer layers. “Face slab dispatch” is particularly serious because this phenomenon can lead to the redistribution of stress and change the working mechanism of the concrete face slab leading to the reduce of waterproofing and longevity of the construction. More seriously, “face slab dispatch” can lead to the collapse of the upstream concrete face slab, then collapsing the dam. In this paper, the results of the research on the effect of “face slab dispatch”
on the vibration of the concrete face slab are presented, thereby proposing a method for determining “face slab dispatch” in the field.
